Market to Market Journey: Phase 5

October market always goes as fast as comes. We made it to Market and the showroom was just sparkling. The showroom was filled with buyers and designer for five days and made this showroom very busy! When our design team completely finished the night before market, we all felt very accomplished and excited for market to begin.

This October Market for Century was filled with blues. You name it from cobalt to indigo, blue was everywhere. We paired all the blues with our dyed finishes in sapphire and lapis and it looked stunning!

Everyone went crazy over the lapis blue Milan dining table!

Here are few more snapshots from the showroom...

I sure do love this new colorful print fabric!

Another favorite was the Omni dining table in desert top and smoke base!

I hope you made it to our showroom this market. If you did, let us know what was your favorite piece or room??

Market to Market Journey: Phase Four

We are rocking and rolling setting up the showroom in High Point! With just a few days to go, this place is coming together quickly!! We have been unloading trucks, propping, staging, laying rugs, cleaning, changing light bulbs... you name it! It takes a lot of man power and energy to set up this big showroom!

We have had trucks coming from Hickory almost daily, sometimes 2 or 3 in one day!

With the new pieces coming in, each space gets a little bit cramped, until it is set up.

We're so thankful for our team of hard working guys who move furniture for us all day long! They set up beds, tables, lay rugs... it's a lot of hard work!

We have about 80 rugs in this showroom...and those things are heavy!

With furniture in place, we get the creative juices flowing and start propping them with accessories. We have a lot of  blue going on here! Accessories help to pull out the colors in the spaces.

Some of the designers at work...
Here is Angelia contemplating her space. It is looking good!

Julie is mastering this cabinet and hanging artwork. It is looking very pretty!

Each bookcase and cabinet is like a composition to be balanced. Lots of different style props are used to create just the perfect look!

Come to the Century Showroom in Market Square to see it all finished!!

Market to Market Journey Phase Three

Can you believe Market is just 4 weeks away?? On this journey to market we are busy finishing up our last orders for market. Our team of designers has gone room by room designing the 80,000 square feet of space here in our High Point showroom. Making our selections for upholstery and casegoods simultaneously allows us to be very creative and make the whole room very cohesive.

With our market orders into the factory, we are now moving all the pieces that are still in showroom. By sorting the furniture into a central place in each room we can decide where each piece should be for October Market. It's important for us to be organized in such a big showroom!

And now the fun begins! We have multiple trucks arriving to the showroom weekly from Hickory. Off the truck, into the freight elevator, up to the showroom, and into place.

Fresh off the truck- this sofa looks great!

It is amazing to see the pieces in all the new and different finishes! Here is a chest from our Madera collection finished in fossil.  Doesn't even look like the one in the catalog.
For another chest from our Milan collection we selected a Desert and Smoke combination. How pretty is that?!
Check out this great chair in a new fabric and finish for the Bob Timberlake area!

We love seeing how beautifully the pieces come out of the factory. Below is another gorgeous new fabric on the Trellis chair from our Oscar de la Renta collection!

We're so excited for the rest of the pieces to get to the showroom! And now I must get back to the floor to start the next step in the journey to market-  staging and propping the rooms.
Be sure to visit our showroom during market to see the final result.

From the Factory- July and August 2013

A lot has been happening in the factories this summer. We are seeing lots of projects coming in, and I dare say that people out there are really learning the art of living with color.  There is nothing more exciting to our team than to see pieces come down the finish line in finishes that we have not thought of using. It even inspires us to replicate it and show it to all of our buyers and designers at the next High Point market.

So if you have an order coming through with a spectacular finish combination, just keep your eyes out as you may just see us showcase it come October! Until then, enjoy these shots...

T29-621 from Timberlake Home Collection in Buttercup

Behind the Scenes: Mesa Photoshoot

Recently, our designers, marketing team, and photographers joined up for an on location photo shoot for our newest collection, Mesa. Mesa was introduced last April market and has a unique look that really needed the perfect home for photography. We found just the home!

We packed up the trucks with..
2 dining tables
12 dining chairs
1 sectional
2 consoles
4 chairs
1 bed
1 bench
5 occasional tables
boxes and boxes of accessories!

Rounded up the team..
1 photographer
4 grips
2 designers
2 marketing folks
2 adorable dogs (they belonged to the homeowners!)

We arrived to the home with our work cut out for us. We had a lot of furniture to shoot and rooms to set up! Once we got there, we started first thing and unloaded the truck.

Before we can begin loading our furniture in the home, we have to move the homeowners furniture. This involves taking photos of exactly where all of their things are so that we can put them back exactly as they were. Then we begin the set up for our first shot, the bedroom.

After we set up the room, we look through the lens and make sure the composition of the frame looks good. Once the overall layout of the pieces and the room look great, our designers start styling the room with accessories while the photographer sets up lighting.

After each shot, we all look at the photo on the computer screen and make sure everything looks perfect.

Dining room set up...Our designer is in the back styling the console piece. This home had beautiful natural lighting and amazing architecture!

After day one of shooting, we are exhausted! Leaving many of the the pieces left to shoot in the home, we are prepared for day two.

Day two began with the living room. Out with the homeowners furniture, and in with a very large sectional! The room was the perfect size for this shot of living room and dining room. Lighting set, cushions and pillows fluffed, and ready to go!
Checking the screen for anything that needs adjusting!

After another long and productive day, we are finished! We captured some really great photos and it's time to move everything out and back on the trucks.

Look for the new Mesa catalog coming soon to see all the incredible photos we captured.
